My Sound Journey: Bass and Beyond
From Marriage Palace Beats to High-End Headphones
🎶 How It All Started
I don’t really know when I got hooked on music, but it’s been a part of me for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I didn’t have that typical “family music time” where you wake up to songs blasting in the morning. But I had my own edge…
I lived next to a marriage palace – and let me tell you, parties happened every other day. Loud music, hard to ignore. That’s where it all began. I got drawn to the sound, the rhythm – and eventually, I downloaded my first song on a Samsung keypad phone with crappy internet. It was just a ringtone, and it took forever to download – but it was worth every second. If you know the Bluetooth era, you know the struggle. 😎
🔥 From Honey Singh to Arijit Singh
Time passed, and my taste in music evolved. I started with Honey Singh, Jay Z, and Drake – you know, the classics. But before I knew it, I was deep into Arijit Singh’s sad songs and soulful video tracks. Then the internet came along and changed everything.
That’s when I got my first pair of cheap earphones – they sounded muffled as hell, but somehow I grew to love them. Then came the game-changer:
- VFX for Android via Xposed APK
- Magisk + EdXposed
- Dolby Atmos Mods
- Sony Players
Man, I tested a LOT of apps – some free, some trashy – with annoying ads that made me question life. But those were the golden days. 🔥
🎧 My Current Gear
Here’s what I’m using these days:
- 🎯 Sony WH-1000XM4 – My go-to pair for serious listening
- 🎯 Oppo Enco X2 – Solid for everyday use
- 🎯 AirPods Pro 2nd Gen (Type-C) – Apple ecosystem magic
- 🎯 1More Piston – Old but gold (still works!)
- 🎯 AKG K52 – Clean sound, decent bass
- 🎯 A drawer full of Boat, Mivi, and random cheap buds from cousins
🎛️ My Current EQ Setup
Sony WH-1000XM4 Settings
I’ve got a dual EQ setup because, yeah, I need that depth:
- EQMac Pro on Mac – for more depth and clarity
- Sony Connect on iPhone with DSEE Extreme ON – adds that rich flavor to low melodies
- Noise cancellation? Optional – but it hits different with mellow tracks
💥 iPhone still doesn’t support LDAC, and honestly, it pisses me off. If I were on Android, I’d stick with Sony Connect alone and just tweak it based on the app.
EQMAC settings are below
IF you have some more suggestions then i would like to hear your settings too, mail me at im@surajmishra.co.in. Also i am using paid version of EQMAC cause i liked the 31 bands settings but i think they offer trail time via ads you can try that if you love than maybe you can lock in. but for me on Mac devices its good.
Also i have added two sony connect settings here, one is eq settings and one is to show AAC DSSE on with NC on.
6,4,2,5,4 (arranged in order)
💡 Why This Works
Look, I’m not saying my settings are the best – but if you’re a bass lover like me, you’ll vibe with them. Copy them, tweak them, make them your own. After all, sound is personal. 🎶
